I have a ring i bought a few years ago. I was several hundred dollars and has a decent size redish/green stone in the center, a blue stone on either side and two itty bitty diamonds on the outside. I took a picture but don’t how to load it on here… Anyways, my soon-to-be fiance doesn’t have a whole lot of $ to spend on a ring so I was thinking about giving him my ring and saying that he could just take out the redish one and put in a diamond. Would that be worth it? The stone is 1/4 of an inch by 3/16th of an inch. I have no idea what size karat stone or whatever that is. it would probably be a decent sized diamond. I’m just wondering if it would actually save him/us money in the long run. Can you just buy a plain diamond and have it set in a ring?

i know its hard to give a price but im trying to get a ballpark figure 18 k white gold band with a 3/4 Princess cut center stone and the side stones are going to be .25 carat sapphires. the center stone should be no less the vs2 and everything els should be middle ground no low end stuff

the stone is about 3-4 carats, does that mean its citrine?

I like diamonds but almost every woman has one and therefore I feel they’re overated. I would much rather have a mystic fire topaz gem for many different reasons (for one I’m not a materialistic person and would much rather have something of sentimental value no matter what it costs and I’d like to have something “different” from the every day norm engagement ring), but my boyfriend says an engagment ring should be diamond.

I don’t think it should matter what stone it is, or if it’s an heirloom or purchased from a jewler, or if it’s $100 or $3,000, as long as the feelings represented by it are real and true.

Should I just relax and be thankful I have a man that is willing to discuss rings and marriage, or is this a point worth making?
I have told him why I would prefer not to have a diamond.
Here’s the thing you guys aren’t understanding I DON’T WANT A DIAMOND.

If anything I’d like to have a M.F.Topaz and if anything diamond accents. And I don’t care about the popularity of MFT, and I don’t care if it “clashes” with outfits or not. I like it and I think it’s very pretty.

I would like a simple 3 stone setting using my bridal set diamonds. They are small stones, I think 1/3 ct and 2, 1/6 ct. Do you know how much this would cost approximately?

Its uncertified, color H-I, clarity SI2, pear, .68cttw, center stone is 6mmx4mm and 1/3rd ct. .34ct, sidestones same color and clarity 2 baguettes, 2 princesses, set in a 14k yellow gold setting, size 8 shank is about 2.5mm and has original paperwork accompanying it?
It’s mine, it is about 10 years old.

Recently my boyfriend and I decided to start ring shopping. The first ring I picked out was…cute…but after a few more visits, the ring size and style kept changing and growing untill eventually we both decided on a 2 carat canary diamond center stone with white diamond side stones bringing the total carat weight to 3.18 carats and the price tag to $20,000. We haven’t brought the ring home yet but all my friends and family that I have told about it have initially freaked out and then told me that I need to pick a different ring and spend the money on something more “important”. What should I do?

i want to buy some diamond jewellery,like a ring and a 3-stone necklace.which store(like Jared,Kay,Zales etc) offers the best jewellery in terms of both quality and price?
is buying diamond jewellery at BJ’s, Sam’s Club recommended?

But the thing is..its not an *engagement* ring..it was just an upgrade for the ring I already have… the ring he first bought me a couple years ago was a 1/4 CT marquese 3 stone w/ accent baquettes (SP?)…this ring is a 1/2 carat princess cut 3 stone w/ circle accent diamonds .the 3 diamonds have the 4 stone effect where its 4 diamonds creating one whole one…I love the ring..but I am kind of disapointed it doesn’t have that *special meaning*…he gave it to me as an early christmas present…We was in the kitchen and he hands it to me and says *merry christmas*. it was exactly what i wanted for an engagement ring…but of course he was not on one knee…he asked if i liked it because I guess I had a look on my face like I didn’t but I did.. i think I was just bummed out he didn’t ask me to marry him.

He said maybe one day I will get a bigger one if we ever did get engaged…I mean the ring he already gave me is plenty! has this ever happened to anyone??
His mother & I are extremely close…she reassured me that her kids wait for anything important because they wanna know its a good descion.. after all his brother waited 6 years to propose to his girlfriend.. & they have been together for 9 years..so I suppose that may be my bf’s plans…

I am saddened that my tanzanite ring never looks as good as the day I bought it. It’s a 3 stone tanz. ring with 2 small diamonds on the side, 14k white gold. It’s a beautiful blueish purple.

I get it cleaned (by steam) at the place I bought it at every 4-5 months, but even a week after the cleaning it looks clouded and bad. I wear it daily doing dishes and housework, but I want to wear it often; I just need to know how to clean it.

I tried the warm dish soap method of cleaning it with a clean cloth. The top will look wonderful but the inside is hard to reach and will stay cloudy and dull.

They clean it with steam and they said not to use a traditional cleaner or machine.

Do you know how to clean tanzanite and even the hard to reach places safely and effectively?

Please help, thanks! I want my pretty ring back…
