Hi, I was given this ring in 2005 by an old boyfriend who bought it new from a jeweler and gave it to me as an engagement ring. Long story short, it didn’t work out and he didn’t want the ring back. I’ve insisted 3-4 times and he wouldn’t take it . So what’s a girl to do? I’m thinking of selling it and feeling quite bad about it actually, but I don’t want it.

I wore it on a chain maybe 4-5 times and that’s it, there’s no damage to it although, I’m sure it’s look better if it were cleaned up. Other than that, I don’t know too much about it other than I believe it’s 18 kt yellow gold with 3 larger center stones. (looks like they may be roughly 1/16 kt each when compared to known 1/4 kt) and 6 stones, half that size (3 on each side). I know my description is confusing and I know I need to take it to a jeweler to get the straight answer, but I kinda want to know if it’s even worth the trouble. And how do I go about selling it anyways? Thanks in advance.

Ahhh…so, after 4 1/2 years of dating, and nearly a year of looking for the perfect engagement ring for me, my boyfriend has found these two beautiful rings – and now we can’t decide which one looks better! Since I am already wearing a simple-3-stone-diamond-gold ring, we want something that is going to be noticable as our NEW engagement ring. Something that you just can’t help but to notice. But seeing as how we like both of them equally, we are in a bind! We decided to buy whichever one people think screams out ‘We Are Getting Married!!!!’

In reply to comments about the size, I would like to say that I don’t like bigger rings. I think the bigger the stone looks, the more in tends to look fake. Besides, it’s just a piece of jewlery…we don’t want to spend a ton of money. We would rather of the money go towards really nice wedding bands, our furnishing our aparment after we get married. Marriage isn’t about having a really expensive ring, or a really fancy wedding. We love each other deeply, and so for us, getting married IS worth it – ring or no ring. Its just a symbol of our commitment to each other…so anyone who thinks that its pointless to get married unless you have a huge ring on your finger is sadly mistaken.

As for our wedding date, it is set for November 3rd of next year…it will be our 5 1/2 year Anniversery!
