what does 10k D mean on a ring?

Plain? With diamond accents? How many? Any suggestions? I’ll be purchasing from http://www.bluenile.com.

i want to propose in the next year or so but the prob is my gf found out i baught a ring and now im unsure on how to ask her to marry me. im afraid she wont be suprised because she knows i baught it. i dont know what to do!! also the has a 1 1/2 carrot 3 stone diamond ring . i baught a band to go with it and when we get married i will put another band on the other side. the promblem is i need the ring on her hand to get the band attatched to it. maybe ill tell her she has a loose diamond or something for a excuse to take her ring from her
the diamond ring she has now is a promise ring the band i just baught is for the engagement and the next band i will by will be for the wedding. so i will be band ring band on her finger

my bf has asked for engagement ring ideas!! he’s going to be picking it out on his own but needed some direction (we’ve been dating 3 years).

i have found a few images for pear-shaped or marquise-shaped eternity bands, but the stones are all huge (ie. super expensive) or not available in a size 4 due to the fact that eternity rings have no metal bands to adjust. i have a pear solitaire and want a pear or marquise band to pair with it. i would be ok with a 5-stone wedding band or a cz replica in a size 4. help!!

sarah jane, thx for the input, but i like the pear or marquise look. i find the channel set round eternity band very common, boring, and expected. i like that the pear or marquise are less expected and look great/interesting with the solitaire or alone.

I’d appreciate some opinions on what I should do for my wedding band. here is my engagement ring (14k gold, 21 diamonds totalling 1 ct weight, pave setting); http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/onblack.php?id=1111062455

There is one that fits with this but it I’m not sure if I like it. It adds an extra row of diamonds on the outside, so the ring loses its shape of 3 flowers, and the matching band is too small to be worn on its own.
I’m not necessarily looking for a specific example or picture, but more of opinion/suggestion.
Should I get something that fits into the shape of it or no?
Stay with 14k yellow gold or add another tone?
Diamonds only or other gemstone?
stones on wedding band or no?
should my wedding band be made to match my fiance’s?

I almost wish I had asked for a more plain solitaire (but we are young and the ones I liked were way too expensive). I love this ring but its proving difficult to find a match.
Is there an existing ring you think would look good, let me know!

What kind of wedding band would you get with this?

I know with 3 stones you have to get them bent a bit, but what about solitaires? Do you think a half-eternity band would go?

How much would you buy or do you think this ring could be sold for?

It is a 3 carat diamond ring
Center stone is one carat
rounds in center ring total one carat
each band is half carat
diamonds are set in white gold

Ring was recently re-dipped, not worn since dipping, ring is from Helzberg diamonds, and warranty is uptodate along with 6 month inspections up to date as well.
Also, all three bands are saudered together and the ring is size 7 1/4.

Ok-my fiance proposed to me with his grandmothers engagement ring. It is a beautiful platinum ring, with a 1 carat round stone in the middle, and 3 small stones inlaid on each side of the ring. I love my ring so much, and didn’t even need it sized! My problem is, we are getting married May 31, and I don’t know what to do about a wedding band. I am thinking just a plain band, but a plain platinum band is pretty expensive (at least $400) and just won’t work in our budget right now. I know there is a difference in color between white gold/platinum, but the white gold plain band is about all we can afford. Do I have to have a wedding band? Can he put the engagement ring on me during the ceremony? I am soo confused about what to do! Please help with suggestions!
Lunchbox—I am already on a tight budget, there are no extras in my house! I don’t get mani’s or pedi’s & my coffee comes from Folgers! I know its not a big deal, but these little details stress me out! I was hoping he could just put my engagement ring on me during the ceremony…either way we’re married, so it doesn’t matter, but you know?
Lydia-the reason “we” don’t have the $$ for a bridal ring is because we are on a tight budget…we are paying for our own wedding (which is very small & simple & intimate) and everything else, so a lot of our $$ is going to the honeymoon…I don’t care if I have a ring or not, because I love him & that is what matters. I am not complaining about anything, just looking for suggestions.

We bought a gold and diamond band that curves around my three stone engagement ring. The band has 7 round diamonds in a row. It is 1/3 ctw.
I am considering changing either 3 or 4 stones so the ring alternates diamonds and sapphires (because the side stones of my engagement ring are sapphires) if we can afford it. I do not have the sapphires. They are not channel set stones but since each set of prongs is between two stones I assume all the stones will need to be reset. Would it be even more expensive because they have to at least somewhat match the sapphires in the engagement ring?
The band was purchased from Zales. Do they buy loose diamonds? They seemed less than enthusiatic about me changing it at all… I can take it to another Zales, but if I take it somewhere else I forfeit my lifetime warranty.
